ESG

MA Group is committed to integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its operations to promote sustainability, enhance social well-being and ensure sound governance.

At MA Group we are committed to making a positive contribution to our environment, our people, our clients, our customers, the community and society in general. We will do this by;

  • Setting out our ESG strategy and reporting progress against agreed objectives.
  • Embedding a culture of sustainability across our business operations and supply chains and select strategic partnerships that support the same zero carbon objectives.
  • Supporting our people with activities to benefit the local community and environment.
  • Continuing to invest in innovation that reduces our environmental impact such as TREVOR, drying equipment management, energy efficiency.
  • Supporting our clients in achieving their ESG objectives.

The MA Group ESG report for 2024 outlines our performance, initiatives and future goals:

We are aiming for:

  • 10% reduction in Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from the 2023 position by 2025
  • 60% reduction in Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from the 2023 position by 2035
  • 90% reduction in Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from the 2023 position by 2045, and carbon neutrality by 2050.

This environmental policy applies to all our operations including management, office services, field-based operations and procurement. James Bush (Chief Commercial Officer) is responsible for ensuring that the policy is implemented. However, all employees have a responsibility to ensure that the aims and objectives of the policy are met. ESG is at the very heart of our operation and forms a standardised agenda item at our executive meetings, to ensure business decisions are taken with consideration for their environmental impact.

Initiatives that we are currently working on include:

  • Developing a carbon cost calculator for claims to give our clients insight into the emissions generated by the work we undertake, and to help identify lower carbon cost options.
  • Establishing an ESG working group with executive team representation and appointed an Equality and Inclusion Champion to support and advise the executive team.
  • Setting a new minimum energy efficiency standard for drying equipment to be adopted across our Revival network and wider supply chains, to deliver energy cost and CO2 savings to clients.
  • Launching MA Group ‘One World Certified’ to accredit our suppliers who have embraced our ESG values.
  • Continued investment in TREVOR has seen our UK average drying times reduced to 15 days and 1,229 tonnes of C02 saved in 2024 to date.
